After all, who wants to be cooking or washing dishes when there are adorable little ghosts and ghouls knocking on your door for treats?

Thanksgiving is almost here and the VG team is busier than ever — but no matter how busy life gets, we always make an effort to slow down and focus on gratitude over the holiday weekend.

We’re still feeling that summer heat during the day here in southern Ontario, but the nights are getting cooler and there’s been plenty of rain these last few weeks. If you’re getting that cozy, stay-indoors-and-chill vibe, you’re not alone — the summer-to-fall transition is definitely upon us!

The last long weekend of summer is upon us, and we’re ready to have a good time. While some people are heading up to the cottage, going camping or taking part in other long weekend traditions, others are thinking about how to spend the next few days.

Labour Day weekend often feels like the end of summer, even if we still have weeks of sunshine and beautiful weather ahead. It’s symbolic in a lot of ways, especially if you’ve got kids heading back to school (or are a teacher heading back to work). Labour Day might be when you close up the cottage, pack away your tents after all that summer camping, or tidy up the gardens before fall weather hits. Or maybe it’s when you have an annual BBQ with friends and family and let the good times roll!
