What should I order for Thanksgiving this year?

In just over two weeks, you’ll be sitting down to another fantastic Thanksgiving dinner. No matter who you’re celebrating with or what you’re cooking, we hope you have a restful, enjoyable weekend with people you love (plus, some incredible local food).

VG Meats offers a wide variety of holiday favourites, and our online system makes it easy to get your order delivered right to your door. Or, choose to pick up your order at our retail locations in Simcoe or Stoney Creek! Here are some ideas to help get you started.

If you’re hosting a small gathering

A small meal can still be spectacular. Consider ordering our stuffed turkey breast (it’s two favourites in one!), individual turkey pieces (breasts, thighs and/or drumsticks) or our delectable smoked turkey pieces. You could also try a small turducken! All of these items are available through our Thanksgiving order form.

If you’re cooking for a larger group

A large turkey is a must if you’re cooking for a crowd, but there are other options to consider. Try offering both turkey and your favourite beef roast, like a flavorful brisket, a blade eye roast or tender prime rib. These beef roasts aren’t on our Thanksgiving order form as they’re part of our regular online store, but additional items can be added to your order by contacting danny@vgmeats.ca.

If you want an alternative to turkey

Not in the mood for turkey this year? That’s alright — we’ve got delicious hams, pork tenderloin and other family favourites to choose from. Start by placing an order from our Thanksgiving menu (turkey, ham and turducken are all listed here) and contact danny@vgmeats.ca to add whatever else you want from our year round online offering (beef, pork roasts, etc).

If you don’t feel like cooking (but you still want a delicious meal)

If you want an incredible meal without any of the work, we’ve got you covered. Just scroll to the bottom half of this page to view a complete selection of prepared holiday dishes. Our family-style turkey dinners include VG Meats turkey that’s been roasted to perfection plus our signature stuffing, rich turkey gravy and more! We also have a great selection of Ontario produce so you can make your favourite sides. After all, what’s Thanksgiving without a little cranberry sauce and some sweet potatoes?
