5 things to know about VG Meats
VG Meats is proud to have many longtime customers who have shopped with us for years—those familiar, smiling faces we’re happy to see walk into the store any day of the week. Sometimes, this includes multiple generations of the same family! We’re grateful for each and every one of them.
We’re also thrilled when new families and individuals discover VG Meats. If you’re the latter, please take a moment to get to know us better. And if you have any questions, please let us know!
We’re a family company
VG Meats is a fourth generation family business that’s currently helmed by four brothers: Cory, Chad, Kyle and Kevin Van Groningen. The older generations are still involved in operations and the younger generations like to help out on the farm! It’s a true family affair, and we feel very fortunate to work together.
We’re passionate about regenerative farming
Our family and the greater VG Meats team is passionate about regenerative farming, and oldest brother Cory is certified by the Savory Institute in Colorado. We know that regenerative farming has many benefits for the land as well as our bodies and economy, and our mission is to help make this the standard approach to land management and food production.
We’re putting Ontario beef on the map
VG Meats is all about providing delicious, tender, ethically produced products your family will love. We introduced our own Tenderness Tested scale several years ago and are proud of how our products stack up. Ontario produces some of the most tender, juicy, flavourful beef on the planet, and we’re putting it on the map!
We have two retail locations
VG Meats has two retail locations: one in Simcoe and another in Stoney Creek. A selection of VG Meats products is available at Eataly in Toronto as well as Farm Boy, Metro and Goodness Me locations. That’s a lot of ways to shop! But there’s more...
