What to do on Family Day weekend in Norfolk County, Hamilton and Halton
The Family Day holiday weekend is here and while it might not offer the warm temperatures and sunshine of other long weekends, there’s still plenty of fun things to do. Activities near Norfolk County
Put on your dancing shoes! A family dance to celebrate Valentine’s Day is happening on the evening of Friday, February 14th in Simcoe - details are available here. Over the weekend, there’s an outer space-themed event in Glanbrook and sugar bush tours in Dunnville. There’s a free movie night being held in Tilsonburg on Monday, February 17th (details here). Or, visit a local restaurant and support Ontario food producers!
Activities in the Hamilton area
One of the biggest Family Day activities in the Hamilton area is the Hamilton Kids Fest at the Ancaster fairgrounds (details here). There’s also a very cool family train event at the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology. Additional family-friendly events include an event at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, free family arts activities at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, Family Day at Dundurn Castle, and a sponsored free skate at the Mohawk 4 Ice Centre. If the weather’s good, consider a winter hike or snowshoe!
Activities in Halton Region
There’s plenty to do in and around Halton this weekend. The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is hosting a Family Day event with face painting, a clown, live entertainment and more. There’s also a free, fun family event happening at Joseph Brant Museum all afternoon. If you’re feeling zen, enjoy some free family yoga at Chrysalis studio. Like to skate? Don’t forget Valentine’s Day
Are you cooking for your sweetheart this weekend? Say “I love you” with farm fresh local beef. Consider a Tomahawk Steak or some delectable prime rib.
