Your long weekend BBQ shopping list
The August long weekend is within sight and we’re ready for some delicious summer BBQ favourites. You know the usual suspects—hot dogs, hamburgers and grilled chicken breasts—but there are plenty of delicious options to choose from at VG Meats. And remember: we’re open Saturdays until 5pm in both Simcoe and Stoney Creek, and our online store never closes.
The classics
If you’re planning a BBQ with friends or simply want to enjoy some delicious meals with your family, start with the classics: a great pork chop, some gluten-free pork sausages, our incredible portobello mushroom steak burgers or a box of our regular beef burgers, some turkey burgers and some pork back ribs. There are also all beef and pork hot dogs (check out these fun ideas for preparing those) and our boneless skinless chicken breasts (perfect for marinating, grilling and serving with your favourite summer sides).
For the foodies
As much as we love the classics, it can be a lot of food to try something new or unexpected. If you want to shake up your long weekend menu, consider some lamb skewers or tender lamb burgers. Our pasture-raised chicken is a phenomenal product that will only be available for a limited time. We’ve also got mini steaks (perfect for those who enjoy surf n’ turf) and these great steak recommendations from our expert butchers. Beef back ribs are a delicious change from your usual pork ribs, our smoked pork chops are drool-worthy, and you can use our stewing beef to make incredible kebabs. Hungry yet?
