It’s time to get ready for Thanksgiving!
We love Thanksgiving—the fall colours, enjoying quality time with family and friends, and of course, the amazing food. There’s nothing like sitting around a table with people you love and a delicious roast turkey in the centre of it all. It doesn’t matter if you’re the type of person who prefers to keep it simple, takes a fine dining approach or smothers their plate in gravy—we wish you a holiday filled with love, gratitude and full bellies.
This year, Thanksgiving falls on Monday, October 10th. Here’s everything you need to know about planning a delicious Thanksgiving dinner using high quality local food from VG Meats. If you have any questions, please contact us!
Eat local (and order ahead!)
Turkey is a Thanksgiving classic. This year, we have some incredible pastured birds from our farm, delicious local turkeys from our partners at Rowe Farms and our delectable smoked turkeys (yum). Some families prefer to enjoy a tender aged prime rib roast, mouth-watering ham, or even a turducken (a three-bird roast consisting of turkey, duck and chicken). We also offer a variety of prepared side dishes, plus our popular gravy and stuffing. You can view a full selection of holiday products here.
No matter what you’ll be eating on Thanksgiving weekend, we recommend reserving your turkey and other holiday items as early as possible to avoid disappointment. We do our very best to get each customer exactly what they want, but our most popular products may sell out or be unavailable in your preferred size range.

The ‘need to know’ details
You can reserve your family’s favourite products using our Thanksgiving pre-order website from now until 4:00 pm on September 30th (the holiday website will be deactivated at this time). Between October 1st and October 5th, you can order products online from our regular VGFarmToCity.ca website. After October 5th, you can shop in store at our Simcoe or Stoney Creek retail locations.
If you place an order using our pre-order site, you’ll be able to choose from pick up (October 5th-8th) or home delivery (October 5-7th). If you have any questions, please contact us! Our team is here to help.
