O Canada—it’s your birthday, and we’re ready to celebrate!
While every long weekend is something to look forward to, the July long weekend feels extra special to a lot of Canadians. We’re so fortunate to live in this beautiful country, and grateful for all it has to offer. Canada Day has a lot of cultural and family traditions that are a lot of fun—parades, fireworks, and of course, a good ol’ fashioned backyard BBQ! Whether you’ll be at the cottage, camping out in the wilderness or staying home to relax this weekend, we hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends.
Before we officially kick off the long weekend, here are a few notes and reminders from the VG Meats team. If you have any questions or would like assistance, just let us know! We’d be glad to hear from you.

Have you done your long weekend shopping yet? If not, here are a few delicious local products you may want to put on your shopping list.
- Burgers (we recommend buying a bulk box of your favourite burgers for maximum value)

- A breakfast bundle (or two, depending on your weekend plans)
If you’re looking for more great products or personalized recommendations from our team, please speak to your local VG Meats’ butcher or one of our other helpful staff. We also carry fresh produce, local dairy products, snacks and prepared dishes for your convenience.
Our holiday hours
VG Meats will be open for regular business hours on Saturday and closed on Sunday. While our Simcoe location will be closed on Canada Day (Monday, July 1), please note that our Stoney Creek location will be open from 10am—4pm on Canada Day for your convenience.
