3 reasons to use your BBQ in winter
In the summer, your BBQ probably gets a lot of attention — but how often have you been using it lately? We’re willing to bet it’s been given a pretty long break at this point. Some of our customers are avid winter grilling enthusiasts, but others tend to neglect their BBQs once the temperature drops. We get it — it’s cold out there, and you’ve got a perfectly good oven in your house! — but don’t overlook your favourite summer cooking tool in the cold months. Your BBQ works just as well in winter, and you’ll love slicing into that perfectly grilled steak in the middle of February.
Here are three reasons you should be using your BBQ year round.
Because you deserve delicious food
Food just tastes better when it’s been grilled outdoors. That’s not to say we don’t love a good steak in the cast iron or a delicious roast from the oven, but let’s be honest: everyone loves the taste of dinner from the BBQ. The smell alone makes mouths start to water! Not only can you cook up your summer BBQ favourites like burgers, chicken breasts, sausages and hot dogs, you can cook up beef tenderloin and other large pieces of meat. Consider slow roasting a ham or using a BBQ rotisserie to get that perfect, slow-cooked chicken. Yum!
Because it creates fewer dishes
We all love to enjoy a good home-cooked meal, but most people are less crazy about doing the dishes afterwards. One of the perks of grilling your dinner is that it typically creates fewer dishes. You’ll still have a few prep dishes and the usual plates and cutlery, but if you cook the entire meal on the BBQ, there won’t be any pots and pans to deal with later. Score!
Because we all need to get outside right now
A lot of us have been cooped up indoors for weeks or months during the pandemic, and it’s good to get outside as much as possible to stay mentally and physically well. A hike, nature walk or other outdoor activity is great, but even a quick backyard BBQ is a nice dose of fresh air. You might be surprised how much it boosts your mood! Now bundle up, get out there and grill up something good! Trust us — you’ll be glad you did.
