Happy New Year from VG Meats!
The beginning of a new year is upon us, and we’re approaching it with gratitude, optimism and excitement about what’s ahead. We hope everyone has had a restful, joyful holiday season so far—with any luck, you’ve got a few more days to enjoy before jumping back into school, work and the usual busyness of life. Thanks again to everyone who made VG Meats a part of their holiday tradition by purchasing a fresh local turkey, delicious ham or tender Ontario beef roast. Many of our customers are incredible home chefs, and it’s greatly satisfying to see our products transformed into delectable holiday meals.
VG Meats will be closing early on New Year’s Eve (3pm in Simcoe and 4pm in Stoney Creek). While we’ll be closed on New Year’s Day, both locations will be open with regular hours of operation on January 2nd. Thanks as always for shopping local and supporting regenerative food in your community. And from all of us at VG Meats, happy new year!
What’s ahead for VG Meats
In 2026, we’ll be continuing our mission: putting more acres under holistic management in Ontario while producing delicious, high quality food for families like yours. This approach contributes to regenerative outcomes in nearby communities and can lead to healthier local ecosystems, economies and families. When you shop at VG Meats, you’re supporting this regeneration and allowing us to expand our impact. If you’d like to know more about holistic management or regenerative food, stay tuned—we’ll have plenty of educational opportunities available in the year ahead. You can also contact farmer Cory Van Groningen if you have questions about holistic management. He’d be glad to hear from you by email: cory@harvesttogather.ca.
We also look forward to partnering with more local vendors and adding even more delicious Canadian products from food producers who share our values and approach. There are always delicious new items popping up on shelves in Simcoe and Stoney Creek—keep an eye on our socials for updates from the VG Meats team.
Thanks for shopping local
We’ll be back to our regular programming next week—product highlights, meal ideas and delicious recipes to try—but as we wrap up this post, we’ll say it one more time. Thanks for shopping local and contributing to stronger local food systems here in Ontario. We appreciate your support of our proudly independent, Canadian business and wish you all the very best in 2026. Happy New Year!
