Get ready for spring with VG Meats

Let’s get ready for spring—here are some tips and tricks from the VG Meats team.
Clean out your fridge and freezer
Start your spring prep by cleaning out your fridge and freezer. We don’t just mean giving it a scrub—while that’s always a good idea, we’re talking about digging through and finding anything that’s been forgotten or is nearing its expiration date. There may be a pork roast you forgot about or a package of chicken breasts that should be cooked soon. Take some time to clean and organize your food storage spaces to avoid waste and get ready for a new season. This also creates space for you to store your warm-weather favourites!
Prep your BBQ
If your BBQ has been sitting under its cover since the fall, take some time to clean and service as needed. Make sure you have a full tank of propane (or an extra tank, if you’re running low) and that the grill is in good shape. Give it a clean if need be, then turn it on to make sure it’s functioning properly. Trust us—it’s a lot better to find an issue with your grill when you’re spring cleaning than when you’ve got a pile of delicious local steaks seasoned and ready to go!
