We love the August long weekend. The midway point of summer, it’s known for giving us beautiful weather, fun in the sun and plenty of opportunities for rest and relaxation. We all know and love the long weekend essentials—steaks, burgers, hot dogs, spare ribs and sausages—but don’t forget these awesome options.

• Korean or southwest marinated beef short ribs: these tender, thin-cut short ribs offer big, bold flavours that pair beautifully with summer salads (potato, macaroni, coleslaw, etc). They grill to perfection in no time, and everyone will be wanting a second helping!
• Beef brisket: if you have a smoker, this is the cut of Ontario beef for you—the flavour and tenderness are incredible. Serve it on a bun or the traditional Texas BBQ way (with beans, fresh cornbread and potato salad).
• Frenched lamb chops: for an elevated grilling experience, grab some of these amazing Ontario lamb chops. Tender, mild and ready to season anyway you like them, these chops are a local delicacy.
• Leek and feta chicken sausage: if you love our Ontario pork sausages, you’ll love these flavourful chicken sausages made with high quality Ontario poultry! They’re also available in delicious spinach and feta.
• Smoked pork chops: want a dinner that’s quick and easy, but tastes like you spent all day on it? This is the way to go! Just add your favourite potatoes and salad for a complete meal in no time.
