Announcing our 2022 award-winning products!
Earlier this month, VG Meats won a number of awards at the 2022 Ontario’s Finest Meat Competition—a fantastic annual industry event held by Meat and Poultry Ontario. It was the first time this event could be held since 2019, and everyone involved was excited to be back in action. The gala is always a great evening, and it was great to see so many new and familiar faces!
As a fourth generation family business, we’re passionate about our products and love what we do. Being recognized for our commitment to high quality and innovation is an added bonus—a big one!—and our team was definitely feeling celebratory each time our name was called. What a night! Here’s a look at the awards we took home this year.

Awarding excellence
VG Meats also won the 2022 Ron Usborne Award of Excellence—an amazing honour that we were thrilled to receive! Introduced in 2007, this award is presented to the company that achieves the highest combined score based on their product placements in the competition (escalating points are given for silver, gold and platinum placements). It’s driven directly by the quality of our products and knowing this, we’re even more grateful to be recognized. We also won this award in 2007, 2009 and 2017—it’s a great feeling to see our name up there several times!
